Wisconsin to Host First of Four Home Meets with Badger ClassicPublished by
Wisconsin to Host First of Four Home Cross country Meets on FridayBy Adam Kopet Wisconsin hosts its first home meet this season Friday with the Badger Classic, according to a Wisconsin Athletics release. The Badgers have a total of four home meets on the 2018 cross county schedule, all hosted at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course. In addition to Friday's Badger Classic, Wisconsin will host the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, the Wisconsin Pre-National meet and the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships. Historically, the nation's top teams have had to choose between Pre-Nationals and the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, as they have been hosted on the same weekend. With Wisconsin hosting championships this year, the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational has been moved to Sept. 29. While the competition at the later meets is expected to be tough, the Badger Classic will be a more low-key affair. Marquette, the Arkansas men and the Northwestern women are scheduled to compete.
